To survive the recent health crisis, some restaurants are working harder, and some are working smarter. The Purple Pig is the latter. Chef Jimmy Bannos Jr. has devised a prix fixe Italian feast for curbside pick-up to hold you over until the restaurant space reopens. Just let them know how many people you’re serving, and The Purple Pig will prepare a salad, pasta, and meat course fully cooked to serve at home. Delivery is also available. And once the restaurant reopens? Expect a seasonal, rotating menu of reimagined Mediterranean food, like braised pork shoulder, ricotta gnocchi, and lamb ribs.
And it sure will be nice to again be able to sit at a bar and linger over a glass of wine with a friend. The Purple Pig’s beverage program features nearly 750 drink selections, and was voted one of Wine Enthusiast’s top 100 restaurants for wine. Cheers! That will certainly be something to look forward to, but until then, order your Italian feast to go and toast to the many meals to come.
